Dave Grenier, VP of Peak Resorts and General Manager of Snow Creek, MO

My first experience with Snow Monsters was many seasons ago when this guy with brown and white striped hair started showing up at industry trade shows. Jack Turner came across to me as the genuine article who had a passion for the growth of snowsports. He seemed to mix this passion with a bit of "Hollywood" flair that drew attention to his cause. His persistence was, as they say, "EPIC"!

He managed to get the attention of me and some other members of the Peak Resorts ownership group and soon we would all sign up to become a part of his Snow Monster and NextSnow projects. To this day we all are still participating in his programs. I would say that our Jack Frost/Big Boulder locations enjoy the most success with the programs but even our small areas do well. For instance, our Snow Creek area went from a small revenue of around $7,000 from our Snow Monsters program in 2006-07 to 4 and 5 times that amount when we built a Snow Monsters lodge and stocked it with rental equipment geared for the young cliental that the program is designed to attract. Snow Monsters is a part of the young "first timer" scene at Peak Resorts. It is definitely a program that works for us.

Jane Eshbaugh, Director of Marketing at Holiday Valley Resort, NY:

Holiday Valley is a long time supporter of Snow Monsters and NextSnow because they represent our next generation of skiers and riders. These kid-specific websites are the perfect way to reach the youth market in a positive way. Our Snow Monsters and NextSnow sites send important safety messages to kids in such an entertaining way that they don’t even know they’re learning about safety! Another aspect of our Snow Monsters and Next Snow websites that I love is that Erica updates them for us; I don’t have to remember to do it myself!

Heidi White, Youth Program Manager at Durango Mountain Resort, CO

We love the Snow Monster Program...  We even went as far as changing our childcare facility’s name to the “Snow Monster's Den,” and our lunch room is called “Snowball’s Café.”  Our three year old Nordic skiers are called "Powder Pigs,” and children two years and younger are our "Blizzard Babies."  Snowball and his friends are often found on runs at Purgatory or milling about the plaza.  The coloring books and DVDS are excellent teaching tools... We feel the Snow Monsters Program is the quintessential way to engage children in snow sport safety while having fun!!!
